Spicy new Edmonton act Slates will be releasing their new album on LP at the Pawn Shop in Edmonton on November 7th, 2009. The band is a conglomerate of some of Edmonton’s finest rockers (the Last Deal, Fractal Pattern,  totheteeth/tothehilt) and frankly, sounds freaking awesome. The No Hands album is not a myth and is currently being mixed by Graham Lessard. It is looking like it will be a nine track affair. The working title is “Give Suck to Baby”. Not sure what format it will be released in, but it will be available digitally at some point before 2010.

Hey folks (and I do mean both of you), the No Hands full length is being mixed at the moment and should see the light of day this summer sometime. It will likely be a 9-track affair, dripping with sexual innuendo and songs about drugs. Graham Lessard is still working the stick and he reckons it will be mixed in July/August. Helmsman “Dilly” Skinner is taking a lengthy hiatus getting fucken Dryl’ed in Taiwan and is working on tracks for the next one.

There have been rumblings of a new Roast Records signing as NHL star Dany Heatley’s new band is rumoured to be close to a deal with the Edmonton based imprint. The band is called “Slates” and if the heresay is true, they will sign a contract worth around 7 million per.

No Hands are playing their last 2 shows (for a while at least), as helmsman “Dilly” Skinner is heading to Asia for an unspecified amount of time. The 1st show is at the Citadel (9828 101 A Ave.) on April 6th as part of the “Mayor’s 22nd Annual Celebration of the Arts“. I believe No Hands are playing the “after-party”, which is free for ticketholders of the main event. The band is also playing April 18th in Edmonton at the Artery.

Also… the full-length No Hands album is in the can! Only some guitar & vocal overdubs and she’s ready to rip! Depending on which songs make the final cut, this album will be an 8 to 10 track affair. Godbless Graham Lessard for his infinite patience and superb skills behind the board.  Looks to be on schedule for release in early May.

Hey… every show is “big time” to dese boyss! No Hands will be playing one of their last few shows on March 5th as  helmsman “Dilly” Skinner is taking an Asian sabbatical through to 2010.  The show will be at the Hydeaway (10209 - 100 Ave. Edmonton).  Justin Shaw was kind enough to ask No Hands to play his drawing exhibition, running to April 1st, 2009 at the Hydeaway. Check the tours page for more detailed info. Playing along will be Falklands and Burro. Here is the show poster…

Their full length album is en route as the band has plans to finish the recording in early March.  The momentary title is “Sally’s Crackers“, but may change w/out notice! The full length will most likely be out in May.
