Roughing it in the Bush is the sophomore release from a band whose sound has undergone some sizzling changes. The vocals are in the forefront this time, spewing Dylan-esque venom with a Beefheart growl. Layers of noise howl over the crunchy punk-rock hooks that anchor the songs. The overdriven drum-machines maintain a hypnotic, driving tension with the sheets of horror piled on top of them. A pair of moody, soulful synth driven tracks finish the effort off. Unnnngh!
